Operator 3 Emulsion/Crystallization

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Operator 3 – Emulsion/Crystallization will be responsible for all duties related to the emulsion and crystallization processes. This key role requires a high level of attention to detail and safety while continuously adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).


  • Exercise detail orientated execution and troubleshooting of the crystallization process
  • Identify and understand theoretical and applicable variations of all processes and SOPs related to maintaining and sustaining a safe and productive process
  • Work safely and comfortably with volatile solvents using glassware and lab techniques
  • Ensure Quality and SOPs are always adhered to
  • Capable of completing analytical weight checks and temperature measurements
  • Communicate and escalate any issues with the production process
  • Assist Area Lead and/or Supervisor in the coordination of daily activities to determine opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency and quality
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain all equipment used
  • Collaborate in the planning and development of continuous improvement for the related processes
  • High level of attention to detail while meeting strict timelines and production practices
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor or Production Manager


  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in chemistry, chemical or mechanical engineering, or related field is a definite asset
  • Experience with various lab techniques working with volatile solvents is an asset
  • Previous experience with crystallization or distillation is an asset
  • Experience with bath and circulation thermostats is an asset
  • Knowledge of GMP and GPP is an asset
  • Strong verbal and analytical skills with accuracy in relation to data is required
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload across multiple simultaneous tasks, in a fast-paced work environment, while ensuring delivery of high-quality work and meeting timelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an ability to learn new software applications
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal record check
