Commissioning Technician

The Commissioning Technician reports directly to the Commissioning Manager and is responsible for assisting with the testing and evaluation of equipment, processes and building systems to ensure these systems operate as designed and constructed.

DUTIES:

  • Assist with preparing and keeping up-to-date the pre-commissioning and commissioning documents (including the schedule and the mobilization of personnel and equipment)
  • Assist with the commissioning activities related to equipment and process validation and start-up
  • Create and update checklists, procedures on tasks relating to commissioning activities
  • Assemble, tabulate and report field data collected as part of the commissioning process
  • Attend job sites to verify installation meets design intent, and collect critical information and data
  • Assist with the vendor selection process and collection of vendor commissioning reports
  • Communicate with and organize site work for third party contractors
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and contractors for commissioning work
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Commissioning Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of commissioning or mechanical systems experience
  • High School Diploma required
  • Journeyman ticket would be considered an asset (i.e. Millwright, Electrician, Welder)
  • Class 5 Drivers License required
  • General understanding of the use of basic hand tools
  • Multitasking, time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and organize technical data in a neat and accurate manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient with technology
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with internal & external clients including but not limited to Project Managers, Quality team, Engineers, Contractors and Tradespeople
  • Patience and professionalism are essential and being able to maintain a cooperative attitude through pressure situations
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal record check
